When creating one-of-a-kind silk art, I need to make new photos of each of my scarves. And not just one – many good photos are needed, it would be perfect to have pictures of the whole design, pictures of the scarf on a model on mannequin, photos of details, photos of creating process.
Painting is something I really enjoy, it is so easy and rewarding.
Making photos is something different. When I started I tried to capture the whole scarves. It was the easiest task when they were still on the painting frame. . . but because steam-setting changes the intensity of colours, I had to re-attach them on the frame. Making pics of chiffon scarves was still challenging because they are so transparent.
Later I had the possibility to use black mannequin by my friend Tiiu. I have made a lot of photos with it. Some of them are good, some are not. . . because Estonian light is not very good, especially from October to April.
When it is sunny, it gives a good mood. . . but cheats terribly the colours – the background wall is naturally white, but you can see from these pics, how it may look.
When it is cloudy it is even worse – all shades are gray and sad.
For the opening of my new web shop I visited Katrin Visnapuu Photography studio, and she did some cool pics of me with my scarves. These photos are much better of course! But – if each of my scarves is a one-of-a-kind original, then going to studio with each of them does not seem reasonable?

I planned to do it by myself from the beginning . . . but doing something in the first time can be quite challenging. . . so I thought – maybe it is better to buy the service or outscoure it? I was browsing in Internet, sent some questions to local and International people. It seemed to me, that locals web developers charge too much – most of the things they offer I could do by myself too, just a bit help would be needed. International offers were good, some of them really well-priced. . . but setting up my store meant I needed to share the password of my web page with them, and my PayPal. . . and it seemed scary.
And the announced magic date 7.7 came nearer and nearer, and I knew that it brings good luck. So finally I just had to set it up by myself, because there was no time to ask for someone else to help me. And I did it!

The Mothers Days in different countries start to begin. In Estonia it is the second Sunday of May, in Lithaunia the first Sunday, in Poland the third. . .
But there is not just day – moms need attention all the time, and they deserve to be hugged every day.
Last year I hosted my very first Mothers Day e-sale (because we all were locked down), and it worked surprisingly well. So I will make it a tradition – every spring I will offer a number of scarves with special price. Each of them one of a kind, and each available with super price – EUR 58. This number has chosen to honour the memory of my mom, who lived just 58 years. In summer it will be 21 years from her deadh, so 21 scarves are available this year.

When I was child, Christmas were not celebrated oficcially – they were an ordinary working day in Soviet Union.Still – they were not forbidden too. My grandma always brought in some evergreen branches (the trees were sold later, to celebrate New Year), and sang Christmas song, so I knew these songs.When me and my friend went to school, we started to sing in a girls ensemble. The rehearsals were near a church, and one was on Christmas eve. When we stepped by, the church was full of people, candle light, magic.We stepped in, and got a leaflet with the words. . .of my grandma’s songs!So we started to go to Christmas church yearly – it was almost forbidden, but SOOO beautiful! 😍😍😍
This year I missed it. . .but I sang all these songs under our Christmas tree. I know them by heart!
My silk painting year has been fruitful too. So a new attempt to bring this page the life, to learn to share my story and the love painted into my scarves.

I have created some project pages before in FP and this environment seemed to be very intuitive. But today I feel my intuition is leading me . . . to the forest. . . or even swamp. The places I love to be, but only if I know how to get out of it too.
Right now – I have no idea. But I am ready to experiment. Leadning by doing is the most fun!

BUT to do this, I firstly have to manage to create this web page. Right now it seems to be extremely difficult. But painting on silk seemed to me quite a mission impossible too 21 years ago – I had a lot of painting experience with watercolour and some with oil and acrylics, but on silk everything seemed to fuse and move freely whenever the dye wanted to. The same here I am trying to create pages and posts, but they get “lost” somewhere. . . sometimes permanently (probalbly I just did not save), sometimes they appear later. . . But I know this is a learnable magic and easier to master as silk art.
